BGMI’s V4.6.0 update, released on September 16, introduced the limited-time Midnight Hunter Theme Mode, turning Erangel into a dark vampire-hunting battleground. The event brought redesigned locations, vampire monsters, guild missions, special mechanics, and the Bloodline Awakening system, in which eliminated players could return to the match as vampires.
However, the event did not arrive without problems. Several vampire-related bugs and balance issues quickly became noticeable, particularly during transformation and combat. Krafton India has now addressed several of these issues through the BGMI V4.6.1.21583 patch update, with some of the most important fixes directly affecting vampire gameplay.
BGMI Midnight Hunter Theme Mode Explained
The Midnight Hunter Theme Mode was introduced with the BGMI V4.6.0 update on September 16 and is scheduled to run until November 16. The theme is available on Erangel, where several familiar locations have been transformed into vampire-controlled areas.
Rozhok, Mylta, Quarry, and Gatka were redesigned as part of the Urban Renovation stage, with special missions integrated into these locations. The event also introduced several unique mechanisms, including the Hunter Shooting Range, Bell Tower, Golden Bat, and Scream Crates.
Krafton Fixes Vampire Transformation Issues
On October 03, the BGMI V4.6.1.21583 patch update fixed an issue with the vampire movement. In Fix #5 of Krafton’s bug report, vampires earlier took more than 2 seconds to come out of the red cover, and during the transformation, any player could finish the vampire. But now, they can come out in less than 1 second. Along with this, the vampire’s speed has also been reduced, dropping by up to 20%.
Along with this update, several changes have also been made to the vampire. In Fix #2, earlier, when players were riding a horse, motorcycle, or bicycle, the vampire could not attack them or deal damage. But now, the vampire can deal damage even when a player is riding a motorcycle, bicycle, or horse.
The BGMI V4.6.1.21583 patch update addresses several of those problems, while also making meaningful balance changes to the vampire system. The reduction in vampire numbers, the 20% movement penalty after being hit, the changes to Blood Amber, and the ability to attack players on vehicles could all have a noticeable effect on how the Midnight Hunter mode is played.
