The first day of the BMSD 2026 Semi-Finals concluded on October 8, with Team Apex Gaming delivering its best performance of the tournament so far. After six matches, TAG climbed to the top of the overall standings with 66 points, establishing a 23-point lead over second-placed Outrage, while Vattista Esports followed closely in third place with 41 points.

However, the opening day also exposed a contrasting picture for some of the tournament’s major teams. While TAG, Outrage, and Vattista Esports established themselves near the top, Team Soul finished its three matches with only 14 points, leaving questions about its current form and ability to contend for the trophy.

With the Semi-Finals determining which teams advance directly to the Grand Finals and which must fight through the Last Chance stage, the opening day has already created a significant gap between the leading teams and those under pressure.

Team Apex Gaming Dominates the BMSD 2026 Semi-Finals Day 1 Standings

Team Apex Gaming finished the opening day at the top of the leaderboard, collecting 66 points from six matches, including one WWCD. Its total consisted of 40 finish points and 26 placement points, highlighting the team’s ability to combine eliminations with consistent placement results.

  1. Team Apex Gaming (TAG)
    66 points
TAG averaged 11 points per match across six games, making it the standout team of Day 1. Apart from an early elimination in the second-last Miramar match, the team maintained a strong level of performance throughout the day.
  1. Outrage (OR)
    43 points
Outrage secured second place with one WWCD, 25 finish points, and 18 placement points. The team remained within the leading group but finished 23 points behind TAG.
  1. Vattista Esports (VE)
    41 points
Vattista Esports completed the top three with one WWCD and 41 points from six matches. With only two points separating VE from Outrage, the battle for second place remained close after the opening day.

The most impressive aspect of TAG’s performance was its consistency rather than a single match-winning result. The team collected 66 points without relying entirely on its WWCD, while its players appeared comfortable executing their plans across different situations.

IGL Jelly deserves particular attention in this performance. The lineup appeared coordinated, and TAG’s ability to maintain its average across the six matches helped establish a commanding early lead.

Group B Played All Six Matches on Day 1

The October 8 schedule featured 24 teams divided into groups A, B, and C. The first three matches involved Groups A and B, while the final three matches featured Groups B and C.

As a result, Group B teams played six matches, whereas teams from Groups A and C played three matches each on the opening day.

This distinction is important when evaluating the standings. Teams such as GENS, NBE, and GodLike had collected their points from only three matches, while TAG, Outrage, and Vattista Esports had completed six.

Although TAG’s 66-point total gave it a clear advantage on the leaderboard, the teams with three matches remaining in their day-one schedule had fewer opportunities to accumulate points. Their eventual positions therefore needed to be considered alongside the number of matches played.

GodLike and Other Teams Still Have Work to Do

Team GodLike finished 10th in the standings with 24 points from three matches, including 16 finish points and eight placement points. While its position was higher than Soul’s, GodLike still had room to improve its overall performance.

Team Soul had a disappointing start to the Semi-Finals, finishing Day 1 in 20th place with just 14 points from three matches. The team collected nine finish points and five placement points, with no WWCD.

The tournament remains competitive, and the first day alone cannot determine the eventual finalists. TAG has set the benchmark for Day 1, the challenge now is to maintain that level of performance when the pressure increases.
