India A showcased their dominance with a convincing victory over Pakistan in the group stage of the 2023 Emerging Asia Cup. Sai Sudharshan’s unbeaten 104 and Nikin Jose’s fifty powered the Men in Blue to a comfortable chase.
Opting to bat first, Pakistan A faced early setbacks, losing Saim Ayub and Omair Yousuf in the fifth over to RS Hangargekar’s double-wicket maiden. Haseebullah Khan and Sahibzada Farhan tried to stabilize the innings, but spin from both ends hindered their progress, resulting in four wickets falling quickly at just 50 runs.
Despite a shaky start at 95-6, Pakistan showed resilience, making 110 for their last four wickets. Qasim Akram led the fight with 48, while Mubasir Khan and Mehran Mumtaz contributed with 28 and 25 runs, respectively, helping Pakistan surpass the 200-run mark.
