If you play BGMI and look at your friends’ profiles and wonder how they have guns like the Groza or MG3 in TDM, the answer is the same: Evo Level. BGMI has two different progression systems. One is Player Level, which increases with every match played. The other is Evo Level, which increases only through Arena modes and has completely different rewards.
Most players see Evo Level, don’t understand it, and move on. Players who take it seriously enter Classic matches with weapons that other players have to find through airdrops.
What is Evo Level in BGMI?
Evo Level, also known as Evolution Level, is a separate progression system in BGMI that’s exclusive to Arena modes. Whenever you play a match in TDM, Assault, or Arena mode, you earn Evo XP. This XP gradually accumulates and fills a separate bar. When that bar is full, your Evo Level advances one step.
The scale is from Level 1 to Level 100. Every few levels, a new weapon is unlocked—which you can use in both TDM and Classic matches.
One important thing to understand right off the bat:
Evo Level and Player Level are completely different things. Increasing one doesn’t increase the other.
According to my experience, When Evo Level first appeared, I thought it was just a cosmetic feature. I ignored it for a few weeks. It was only when a squad member killed me in a Classic match with a Groza and told me it was his Evo weapon that I truly understood.

What is the difference between Evo Level and Player Level?
This confusion is very common. Back in PUBG Mobile, there was no such thing as an Evo Level. This system was added to BGMI later. Therefore, it took some time for veteran players to understand it.
| Category | Player Level | Evo Level |
|---|---|---|
| XP Source | Classic, Ranked, and almost all game modes | Only Arena modes TDM, Assault, Payload |
| Rewards | BP, Titles, Cosmetics | TDM Weapons (can also be used in Classic matches) |
| Level Cap | No cap it keeps increasing | Level 1 to Level 100 |
| Reset | Permanent- never resets | Permanent- never resets |
| Affects Other Level? | Does not affect Evo Level | Does not affect Player Level |
Player Level tells you how far you’ve traveled in the overall game. Evo Level tells you how dedicated you’ve been in the Arena.
Another thing for players who have been playing since the PUBG Mobile days: PUBG Mobile had TDM, but it didn’t have an Evo Level system. This feature was introduced in BGMI, and since then, the Arena side of the game has become much more meaningful.

How to check your current Evo level?
Checking your Evo Level is very easy. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the game and go to the main lobby.

Step 2: Tap your Profile icon in the top left corner of the screen.

Step 3: The Profile page will open. A separate Evo Level bar will appear below Player Level.

Step 4: Tap that bar. Your current Evo Level, XP earned so far, and XP required for the next level will all be displayed here.

This section won’t appear if you haven’t played an Arena match yet. Play at least one TDM match. After that, the Evo Level section will automatically activate.
When I first saw this bar, I thought it was a secondary bar to Player Level. A closer look at the profile revealed it’s a completely separate system. If you’re seeing it for the first time, scroll down a bit in the profile.
Which Game Modes Give Evo XP?
This section is the most important. Many players spend hours playing Classic matches and think their Evo Level will also increase, but that’s not the case.

Modes that offer Evo XP:
- Team Deathmatch (TDM):
This is where you earn the most Evo XP. Matches are short, kills are high, and XP accumulates quickly. It’s the first and best choice for Evo grinding. - Assault Mode:
This is the second-best option after TDM. One team attacks, the other defends. The XP rate is decent, and there’s some variety in gameplay. - Payload Mode:
Matches are longer, and the XP rate is lower than TDM. However, this is a change for players who get tired of TDM’s fast pace.
Modes that don’t offer Evo XP:
- Classic Match- Even if you win Chicken Dinner, your Evo XP will remain zero.
- Ranked Match- Only Player Level and Rank increase.
- Practice Range- No XP.
- Training Mode- No Evo XP.
At the beginning, I did the same thing wrong. My Evo level refused to increase during weeks of Classic gameplay, which I found perplexing. When someone pointed out that Classic doesn’t earn Evo XP, the real grind began.
What is the best Arena mode for fast Evo leveling?
Team Deathmatch is the best option
A TDM match lasts approximately 8 to 12 minutes. The more kills you make during this time, the more Evo XP you earn. Winning also earns bonus XP.
If you aim well and play aggressively, you can accumulate a lot of Evo XP in 5 to 7 TDM matches over an hour.
Assault Mode is the second best option.
Assault has structured gameplay. One side attacks, the other defends. For players who don’t like the chaotic pace of TDM, it’s a solid alternative.
If you enjoy Assault, the XP grind won’t feel tedious, even though it’s slightly lower than TDM’s.
Payload Mode: Third Option
Payload features vehicles, rockets, and heavy weapons. The per-minute XP rate is the lowest, but the gameplay experience is quite different. Payload is a nice break when TDM starts to feel monotonous.
How much XP do kills, wins, and survival provide?
BGMI doesn’t officially reveal exact XP numbers. But based on personal play and community observations, the picture that emerges is something like this:
- Per Kill (in TDM): Around 15 to 25 XP
- Bonus for winning a match: Around 50 to 100 XP
- Bonus for losing a match (participation only): Around 20 to 40 XP
- Headshot Kill: Slightly more XP than a normal kill
- During Events: All of these numbers can double or triple
It’s important to note that these numbers aren’t fixed. BGMI periodically runs XP multiplier events. Grinding during those events is the best way to go.
In-event and out-of-event XP gains are notably different. The amount of XP you’d earn in a normal TDM session in 2 hours is earned in 45 minutes with the event multiplier. Never miss events.

How to get and use EXP cards for double XP?
You cannot bypass the process of increasing your Evo Level. But with a smart strategy, you can progress much faster than other players.
Step 1: Make TDM your primary mode
Play at least 5 to 8 TDM matches daily. Even devoting just 1 hour to TDM daily can accumulate a lot of XP over the course of a week. Consistency is the key strategy here.
Step 2: Use EXP Cards at the right time
EXP Cards grant double XP. Activate them when you have at least 1 to 2 hours of play time. Using a card in a half-hour session is a waste.
Step 3: Check Daily Missions Daily
Many of BGMI’s daily missions are Arena-related. Completing them grants bonus XP and sometimes even EXP Cards. Break the habit of skipping the Missions tab.
Step 4: Always participate in Events
BGMI events have XP multipliers and direct Evo rewards. Check the Events tab regularly. This is the most underrated tip most players miss events.
Step 5: Have long sessions on the weekends.
If you’re short on time on the weekdays, have a 2-3 hour TDM session on the weekend. Activate your EXP card during this time to reap the full benefits of double XP.
For a period of time, I developed a routine of playing 5 TDM matches every night before bed. I reached Level 50+ in about 3 months. There’s no better strategy than consistency.
What are EXP Cards and how to use them?
EXP Cards act as temporary XP boosters in BGMI. Once activated, all XP earned in the Arena is doubled for a fixed period of time.

Where to find EXP Cards:
- Upon completing Daily Missions
- In Weekly Mission rewards
- In Seasonal events
- In Royale Pass rewards
- In Login streak bonuses
- In Achievement rewards
How to use EXP Cards:
- Step 1 – Go to the Profile section in the game.
- Step 2 – Open the Inventory or Cards section.
- Step 3 – Select an EXP Card and tap Use.
- Step 4 – Double XP starts as soon as the card is activated.
- Step 5 – Continue playing TDM matches while the card is active.
An important note: If an EXP Card is active and you go to the Practice Range, the card’s duration is wasted because Evo XP is not earned there. Spend the card’s full duration in the Arena.
I used EXP Cards very casually in the beginning. A 10-minute session, card on, then a call, game off. Card wasted. Now I only activate my card when I’m sure I’ll play for at least an hour without stopping.
Level 1 to 100 TDM Weapons – Complete List
The biggest reward of Evo level is TDM Weapons. These are guns that you can use in Classic matches without waiting for any loot.
| Level | Weapon | Weapon Type |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | UMP45 | SMG |
| Level 5 | S686 | Shotgun |
| Level 10 | Vector | SMG |
| Level 15 | QBU | DMR |
| Level 20 | MP5K | SMG |
| Level 25 | DP-28 | LMG |
| Level 30 | S12K | Shotgun |
| Level 35 | SKS | DMR |
| Level 40 | MK14 | DMR |
| Level 45 | Bizon | SMG |
| Level 50 | M249 | LMG |
| Level 55 | AUG | AR |
| Level 60 | Groza | AR |
| Level 65 | Mk47 Mutant | AR |
| Level 70 | G36C | AR |
| Level 75 | MG3 | LMG |
| Level 80 | Lynx AMR | Sniper |
| Level 85 | ACE32 |
Note: This list is subject to change with game updates. The latest and updated list is always available on the in-game Evo Level page.
It’s hard to describe the feeling I had the first time I got to use the Groza as an Evo weapon in a Classic match. The Groza is normally airdropped and not available in every match. But after Evo Level 60, it’s always available. In that moment, all the grinding felt worth it. The same goes for the MG3 and Lynx AMR.
Final Word
Evo Level in BGMI is a long-term process. There is no shortcut to it. It doesn’t increase with UC, or Classic Coupons. It only increases by playing in the Arena. EXP Cards can speed up the process a bit, events can make it faster, but there is no substitute for hard work.
I’ve been with this game since 2017. I’ve seen the journey from PUBG Mobile to BGMI. The Evo Level system is a part of this game that rewards players who take Arena seriously.
